interested in macrobes, microbes, ​and their (co-)evolution.

The picture above depicts two cushions plants in the Alpine of the southern tip of Patagonia. Bolax gumifera (Apiaceae) and Abrotanella emarginata (Asteraceae) form a beautiful cushion in which Leucheria hahnii is nested. This picture gives a fantastic example of convergences (cushion plants evolved in these two angiosperm families) and of biotic interactions shaping community composition (cushion plants provide the habitat for Leucheria hahnii).
